About Karen

Karen Carpino was raised in the Chicago, Illinois area. She attended Harrington Institute of Interior Design in Chicago and graduated with an Associate Degree. She further attended Roosevelt University in Chicago and graduated with a Bachelor of General Studies Degree in Interior Design. Karen returned to Roosevelt University in Chicago and graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Journalism

Karen's professional background includes manager at the Holly Hunt Showroom in The Merchandise Mart in Chicago, project manager for Ann Milligran Gray, furniture designer for the hospitality and commercial furniture industry, and adjunct professor of interior design at Columbia College in Chicago. Karen combines her interior design experience with her journalism expertise to write articles, reviews and blogs on interior design, construction and architecture.

Karen Carpino is a Registered Interior Designer with the State of Illinois since 1991.
